Practicalities when moving to Berlin

Getting registered at the Bürgeramt

There are a few practical things you must keep in mind, such as going to the registration office (Bürgeramt) and getting an application. Everyone who lives in Germany needs to get one of these. We will help you fill out the required document.

Each part of the city has its own Bürgeramt, but if you cannot get an appointment with the one in your area, you can register your address at a different location. It can be beneficial to bring someone who speaks German to these meetings, we suggest asking your buddy for assistance. It can be difficult to get an appointment, we recommend to check the website in the early morning or late in the evening. Click here to book your meeting at the Bürgeramt.
