Exemption from costs at uni-assist

The application at uni-assist is not for free.

Since March 1, 2016 the examination of certificates is free of charge if you …

prove that you have been registered as a refugee in your German residency permit
and
passed the TestAS test or submit a certificate of consultation (Bescheinigung) from a uni-assist member university that recommends an examination of certificates free of charge.

To be released from the costs you can attend an intensive education biographical consultation at the Student Advice at Beuth University of Applied Sciences and get a consulting certificate. (Participants in the project of Refugees Refugees@Beuth get the certificate for successfully participation).

The consulting certificate allows documents to be checked from uni-assist for free.

The Studierendenwerk Berlin – consultation & offers

The Studierendenwerk Berlin is a mandate of the German Federal State of Berlin and is responsible for social, health, economic and cultural care for students in Berlin. The Studierendenwerk offers two support programs for refugees. With the first program refugees get a financial support for the start phase of their study. With the second program students from refugee regions can get support for their study graduation.
